Alaric began his career in the film and television scene as an actor at the age of seventeen. He was given a supporting role in a made-in-Singapore feature film called That's the Way I Like It (1998), which was personally picked up for distribution in 1998 by Harvey Weinstein , who was then still working at Miramax. Alaric has appeared in numerous television shows, including leading roles in two telemovies, a docudrama and a popular drama-comedy in Singapore called Money (2000). Alongside Singapore heartthrob, Pierre Png , Money gave Alaric adequate notoriety as Singapore's next funny man. Alaric's work in the short film scene has also not gone unnoticed. Director Li Lin Wee who directed Another Guy (1998), a delightful comedy about a jobless young graduate, which starred Alaric, had only praise for her leading man. Alaric has also appeared in six other short films and several theatrical variety programs. With various performance credits to his name, Alaric has also embarked on a journey behind the camera. In 2000, his first film, Headache (2001) was screened in several film festivals in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Korea and the United States. Mee Pok Man (1996) director, Eric Khoo , was so impressed with the film that he personally phoned Alaric to show his appreciation for the film. Alaric has since made three other films, two of which were featured in the Asian Film Symposium. Alaric's forth film, Journey of Change (2003), has even garnered critical acclaim at its special screenings in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and the United States. This multi-talented actor and director was once a former artiste of the SAF Music and Drama Company. During his time there, Alaric contributed immensely to the company, not just as a performer but also as an instructor. As a young actor, Alaric has trained with veteran Chinese acting guru, Sia Chuan, and was also a student of the late John Spencer (_The West Wing (1999)_). In December 2005, Alaric was invited to sit on the Board of Directors of Breaking Into Hollywood, a non-profit entertainment organization, based in Los Angeles, that aims to assist aspiring entertainment professionals to achieve their career goals with passion, creativity and integrity. A native of the cosmopolitan island city of Singapore, Alaric is a graduate of Griffith University, Australia, and holds a Bachelor of Film & Television.
